About Venezolanas in Tech

We're a non-profit community of Venezuelan women with a passion for technology. It all started with three friends who saw the need to inspire Venezuelan women to pursue a career in tech, support them through their journey as migrants, and by doing so, pave the road for more Latinas to break into the global tech industry.

At ViT, we strive to build and nurture an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our members. We are intentional in ensuring the inclusion of all women no matter their race, sexual identity, religion, faith, age, or other identities.

Our mission is to inspire and empower women to pursue a career tech, grow their network and professional opportunities.

Created in late 2019, we have been 100% grassroots and self-funded to date. Today we have an active community of +200 members across more than 10 countries.

 Why ViT?

Thousands of Venezuelan women have had to migrate due to the country's economical, social and political crisis. This means having to start from scratch somewhere new and having to insert themselves into a new workforce they don't know.

As migrants, we don't have connections, experience, or understanding of how the job market functions leaving many women unemployed, underpaid, and unsupported.

The challenges we are working to solve:

  • Lack of representation of Venezuelan women in the global technology industry.

  • Lack of awareness and guidance on how to break into the technology industry if you don't have a technical background.

  • Difficulty in adapting and entering a new workforce as migrants.
